The real thing

Having practised our carols, now it was time to get out there and sing for our suppers.

Yesterday, we visited Bigastrin on a very cold and wet afternoon to sing to the pre-school children. We had a warm up session before we faced the first group. Then it was in for a penny – we sang a couple of Spanish carols to start with before the Brits amongst us broke out with Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. The children clapped along with us which we took as a sign of approval. Mind you when you see the age of some of those children you do wonder what is going through their minds; they were probably terrified!

Then onto the second group who were slightly older. They stilled looked in awe at the sight of all these big people who had invaded their classroom but at least none of them cried this year and most raised a smile or two.

Having given our all, we were then treated to a glass (or two) of cava and biscuits and then sent on our way ready to sing to the infants at La Paz today.
