Saving Santa Justa y Rufina

When we have visitors, we always take them to Orihuela. The city has such a rich cultural background, you could literally spend days there and still not see all of it.

Of special interest are the beautiful churches. Sadly, many are suffering from movement with large structural cracks appearing. In the case of Santa Justa y Rufina, 6 metres deep into the subsoil, there is  a water channel which is causing the walls to crack  affecting the upper cornices.

Help is at hand though because 557,255.87 euros is to be spent on reinforcing the foundations. Following that, the plan is to embellish the interior of the church in a second phase.
