Hmm!

P1000518

We planted this yucca in a pot by the porch three years ago. It had grown really well but never flowered.

Other yuccas we've seen have huge flowers but not ours. Not until the other day that is when two of the spikes burst out into bloom.

Not the most spectacular of flowers I will admit but unusual all the same.

Our Phoenix Robellini flowered again this year. The flowers on this dwarf palm are even more unspectacular than the yucca but again show that the plant is healthy and happy in its surroundings.

Gardening here in Spain has been a challenge. You're never quite sure whether the small plant in a pot that you buy will take off and fill a huge space or curl up and die within weeks. Luckily most plants have survived well. A little TLC along with regular doses of fertilizer and water seem to have paid off in most cases.
