The Torrevieja salt works published their figures for the year 2006 – 2007.
In twelve months they have produced 750,000 tonnes of salt which is a similar figure to previous years and includes the Torrevieja salt works and the La Mata salt lake.

The majority of the salt is destined for Scandinavian roads with the remainder being cleaned and packaged on site for table salt and a small amount is finely ground and used to make artist’s paint.
